Joe Micik has released a new, free short story called “On My Terms.” It is available for free through Smashwords at the attached link, with other avenues to follow.

The short story falls within the “dark fiction” genre and is centered around a young woman in her mid-20s by the name of Emily. Her life is turned upside-down by an upsetting change in fortune, and with a broken dream in one hand and a knife in the other, she suffers a serious breakdown.

This is not a typical “Joe genre,” but nevertheless, the author wanted to branch out into a new style of writing as an experiment. With any luck, that experiment has paid off.
